Terrier Group

As defined by the American Kennel Club:
"People familiar with this Group invariably comment on the distinctive terrier personality. These are feisty, energetic dogs whose sizes range from fairly small, as in the Norfolk, Cairn or West Highland White Terrier, to the grand Airedale Terrier. Terriers typically have little tolerance for other animals, including other dogs. Their ancestors were bred to hunt and kill vermin. Many continue to project the attitude that they're always eager for a spirited argument. Most terriers have wiry coats that require special grooming known as stripping in order to maintain a characteristic appearance. In general, they make engaging pets, but require owners with the determination to match their dogs' lively characters."

Affenpinscher	The Affenpinscher is good for apartment life. They are very active indoors and will do okay without a yard.
Australian Terrier
Boston Terrier	It is gentle, alert, very intelligent, and well-mannered. Enthusiastic and occasionally rambunctious, this breed has a sense of humor.
Bull Terrier	Courageous, scrappy, fun-loving, active, clownish and fearless. The Bull Terrier is a loyal, polite, and obedient dog. They become very attached to their owners. The Bull Terrier thrives on affection.
Cairn Terrier	The Cairn Terrier is a spirited, hardy, restless little busybody - a big dog in a small dogs body. Alert, loyal, merry, lovable and mischievous. They are somewhat independent, but friendly.
Jack Russell Terrier	The Jack Russell Terrier will do okay in an apartment if it is sufficiently exercised. They are very active indoors and will do best with at least an average-sized yard
Kerry Blue Terrier	The Kerry Blue Terrier is good for apartment life. It is fairly active indoors and a small yard will do.
Lakeland Terrier	The Lakeland Terrier is a peppy, cheerful, loving and affectionate dog. It is similar to the Welsh Terrier in many ways, but is a bit feistier, willful and more determined.
Miniature Schnauzer	Very perky and bright-eyed. Loving and intelligent. Energetic, affectionate, and obedient. Playful, happy and alert, they like children.
Rat Terrier
Scottish Terrier		Good for apartment living.
Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier	The Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier is an alert and happy animal - graceful, strong and well-coordinated. A playful and friendly terrier.
Welsh Terrier
